  1. Hello Ntokozo,

    Thanks for the message.

I think that if you are ready to take the exam, then there is nothing wrong with taking it in 11th grade. That could be good as well, in case you want to take it again to get a higher score (however, that could get expensive).

The cost for the exam in South Africa for 2017 is $220 US Dollars.

To find out more about the whole process, you can ready these blog posts:

    I hope that this helps!

  2. How much is it to write a toelf test in Johannesburg?

Is it necessary to take the test if you are omly in grade 11?

    Thank you so much

  3. Greetings Megan,

    Thank you for the message.

Unfortunately, I can not do this for you as I am not affiliated with the organization that created or administers the exam, nor am I in any way affiliated with any of the testing centers.

However, hopefully I can direct you to the correct people to contact for help.

First of all, I think that you need to contact the testing center again. Since it was cancelled by them, it is their responsibility to fix the situation.

Secondly, I think that you need to contact the official organization and let them know. Perhaps there is a problem with this testing center and the official organization should know about this so that more people are not affected.

Finally, if you are interested, please let me know about what happens so that I can write a blog post about it so others are not taken advantage of. If you could let me know the name of the Testing Center that would be great.

You can contact the official organization here: http://www.ets.org/toefl/contact

    Good Luck!

    Have An Excellent Day,

    -C.

  4. Good day,
My test date was on the 3rd of September in Durban. The test was cancelled that day due to technical problems in the center.
I was told they would contact me via email for the new test date, but I was never contacted.
It is already very late for me to do it as universities application deadlines are close.
I would like to cancel and get a refund.

    Thank you
    Megan

  5. Greetings Immaculate,

    Thanks for the message.

First of all, I and my website are in no way affiliated with the organization which created and administers the exam, so I can not help you in the way that you are asking.

However, I can tell you that, unfortunately, they are going to tell you that you will need to take the exam again. This is because they only consider the TOEFL scores valid for two years. Also, there have been some slight changes to the exam since you last took it.

I wish for your case, that this was not so, but that is from the information given on the official website, which you can find here: http://www.ets.org/toefl/

    Good luck!

    Have An Excellent Day,

    -C.
