If You Would Like Help Preparing For The TOEFL Exam…
Hello Vaclav,
Thank you for the message and for bringing this to my attention.
The name “Czech Republic” on this page and any other page on this site, is based on the information that is given by the organization that created and administers the exam – so you might want to direct your message to them as well. (However, I don’t think you will get such a quick response from them.) You can contact them here:
https://www.ets.org/contact
However – as you stated – the name “Czechia” is the “short name”, and the name “Czech Republic” is still the English formal name recognized by the UN and is simply the English form of Česká republika (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Name_of_the_Czech_Republic) so the information on this page is still correct.
That being said – as it is very likely that many Czech people who would be searching for TOEFL dates would use the name “Czechia” I will definitely utilize this information. So thank you for helping me to target the very people who could use my help.
Finally – I can tell that this issue is important for you by the addition of the links in your message. But if you want to appeal to someone to make a change which is not in any way necessary, then it is customary to start with a greeting, maybe an introductory statement of why you are writing, and the use of a phrase like “Please consider…” – otherwise it sounds like you are trying to force your own personal ideals or agenda onto someone who has no obligation to make such a change… which no one appreciates.
Have An Excellent Day
The Teacher
